¡°Kim Jung-eun is directing all the preparations for the Party Delegates¡¯ meeting, which is scheduled for September, indicating his power succession.¡± that is according to a high-level source in North Korea who spoke to us on July 7th. He added, ¡°Successor means the same thing as leader in NK.¡±

Kim Jung-eun, Kim Jong-il¡¯s youngest son, oversees all the preparations for the meeting, including personnel affairs, gifts for delegates and accommodation as well as the selection of actors, commercials, finances and so on.

Our source said, ¡°Jang Sung-tek, senior official of the National Defense Committee and the head of administration, assists Kim Jung-eun only in security affairs. Workers proposed that the meeting be held for 4 days from September 6 to 9th and are now waiting for a final decision. ¡±

About 20 members are working in China to prepare souvenirs for the meeting, working closely with the North Korean Embassy in Beijing and the North Korean Consulate in Shenyang. They are, being Kim Jung-eun¡¯s closest confidants, authorized to request unlimited support from the North Korean Embassy and Consulate.

Finally, the source said, ¡°It is very significant that Kim Jung-eun directs the party delegates¡¯ meeting, because his father Kim Jong-il also directed the meeting when he officially appeared at the 6th party delegates¡¯ meeting in 1980. He had assisted his father Kim Il-sung in the preparations for the 2nd party delegates ¡¯ meeting held in 1966.¡±
